Wasabi is a Japanese horseradish that is grated into a green paste. It is most popularly used as a condiment for sushi; however, wasabi is also used for many other Japanese dishes.
When mixed with water, wasabi powder thickens into a paste. It has a strong hot flavor which dissipates within a few seconds and leaves no burning aftertaste in one’s mouth.
